Everton have moved eight points clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League on the back of the late victory at home to Arsenal. The Toffees were in danger of being sucked into the relegation fight, but the win over the Gunners has eased those worries.
Arsenal lost 2-1 to Everton despite the fact that they took the lead. Norwegian international playmaker Martin Odegaard was the recipient of the first goal of the game after guiding the left-footed cross from Kieran Tierney into the back of the Everton net to give Arsenal the lead at the end of the first half. The Gunners held on to that lead until ten minutes from time when Brazil national team star Richarlisonlevelled proceedings for the Toffees.Richarlisontucked away the rebound for the Everton equaliser via his head after fellow attacker Demarai Gray’s shot came back off the crossbar. Gray then scored the winner in the second minute of stoppage time after unleashing a shot from 20 yards out.
Everton started the Arsenal game with a five-point leadand they were increase the point difference between them and the bottom three to eight points by virtue of the late win over the Gunners.
