According to Romagiallorossa, AS Roma are planning to hold talks with Tottenham for Tanguy Ndombele, with the midfielder surplus to requirements in north London. Jose Mourinho likes the player he once coached, although the Italian side will have to sell before making an offer to Spurs. Tanguy Ndombele’s Tottenham career has spiralled out of relevance, with the midfielder awaiting a transfer away from the club. Antonio Conte axed the French midfielder from the club’s pre-season tour to Asia, with the former Lyon star remaining behind in England alongside three other out-of-favour stars.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on a reunion, believing Ndombele’s talents could be better realised under his tutelage, even though the pair did not enjoy the best time together at Tottenham. However, for Roma to complete such an operation, they might have to sell first before making a concrete offer to Tottenham.
Tottenham are interested in Nicolo Zaniolo, with the attacker described as Roma’s prized asset. The Italian giants are seeking at least €50 million from suitors, with Juventus also keen on the winger. There’s no mention of a potential swap deal with Spurs involving Ndombele, as the Serie A side want cash for their star. Roma director Tiago Pinto is set to talk to his Tottenham counterpart Fabio Paratici over the possibility of a move. As things stand, Spurs will be eager to ship Ndombele off permanently rather than a loan deal elsewhere.
