Neil Lennon has managed to rescue Bolton from the brink of relegation and he has managed to put them into the arms of safety.
Despite this, he is looking for more from his players when they take on Blackpool during the weekend. This will be great opportunity for Bolton to once again confirm their status in the Championship next season. Blackpool have been very poor throughout the campaign and they are on the verge of relegation. It would take nothing short of a miracle to see them in the Championship next season. As a result, the players are likely to be down and dead by the time they take to the field against Bolton.
Lennon wants to take this as an advantage for his team. Since the 2-0 win over Millwall, the club has gone too matches without a victory. Clubs in the relegation zone picking up points mean that there is a slight hint of Bolton being relegated this campaign. Lennon wants to end the doubts once and for all by getting a comfortable victory over Blackpool. The end to the campaign will be a difficult one for the former Premier League outfit, as they are up against the likes of Norwich City and Bournemouth. These clubs are chasing promotion and are on a great run of form.
“We’ll have to manage the squad a little bit but right now my focus is only on Blackpool and I’ll say it again, our home form has been excellent. If we can win again it means we can jump up two or three places and then concentrate on getting something against Cardiff. It’ll be all-out attack at the weekend and try to get over the line as quickly as possible.I don’t know how they’ll be feeling and I can’t really comment – I just want to make sure we maintain our good form at home,” said Lennon.
