Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane reportedly wants Martin Odegaard and Achraf Hakimi to return to the club in the near future. The French manager has suffered a lot with player injuries this season but has continued to grind out results and there are reports that he wants two of the club’s youth products to return to the club and has promised them more playing time as well.
After returning to the club from Sociedad, the young midfielder was again sent out on loan to the English Premier League where he joined Arsenal till the end of the season. His Arsenal move also made some sense as he could not have afforded to sit on the Madrid bench after the wonderful season he had during the previous campaign.
He has also added to his footballing knowledge and experience at the Emirates Stadium, leading to reports that the Gunners are interested in making his deal a permanent one. Hakimi, on the other hand, was sent on loan to German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund where he became a star as he had enough opportunity to showcase his talent.
The attacking right-back was not allowed to return to Madrid and was sold to Inter Milan. He has also made huge progress and is now an integral part of the title-winning Inter side. And according to the latest reports, Zidane has finally seen that the two stars are of Madrid quality and are needed at the club. The reports claim that he wants Odegaard to replace the aging Modric while Hakimi is Carvajal’s direct heir.
